Did you check the datasheet of the display. That usually provides the type and manufacturer of the connector.

LB060S01-RD from e-reader of some sort, maybe from a kindle, iriver or kobo?

Datasheets are hard to find for the specific part, but I did find http://www.avidia.com.tw/docs/product/LB060S01-FD01.pdf which contains details of the interface and the connector and maybe similar enough for you to work something out.

The connector itself in your picture says P-TWO, who manufacture connectors, there is another code that I can't make out starting with 39 I think.

I've seen the datasheet I've did a search on mouser and rs-components using the number on datasheet but I've found nothing

Can you read the code on the connector? I can't make it out in your picture.

If you can't make out a manufacturer name, you might also start at DigiKey or Mouser. These types of connectors are often called flex tail, or FPC (flat printed circuits), or FFC (flat flexible cable). From the picture, filter options look like - 38 positions, horizontal/right angle, surface mount. Quickly it will narrow down - you might be able to then pick it out of the list.
