Nokia LCD not working

Hello,

I recently got my mbed and everything has been working fine. I have tried the ethernet connectivity and it worked first time. I decided to get a Nokia LCD. Got the Sparkfun one yesterday and connected it to the mbed but it doesn't work! The backlight works and I have checked the connections for the data/clock etc. Have tried both libraries available on this site but nothing shows on the display. The display was supplied sealed so I have no doubt that electrically the unit is ok. Professionally I have setup many displays, particularly TFT and have been able to access the voltage multiplier and LCD voltage plane, but on this display I can't get to any of that.

Where do I go from here to get the display functioning? I look forward to hearing any suggestions.
