When are you going to add back the USB stack?
ST microcontrollers have very powerful USB hardware built-in, and AFIK there is no USB support for Mbed OS 5. Why the omission, and will USB device/host ever be added to Mbed OS 5?

Hi Brian,
The USB Device stack will be officially added as part of the 5.9 mbed-os release. If you want early access look for the feature-hal-spec-usb-device branch. Around the 5.8 relelase you should be able to test this preliminary version and provide feedback (would be much appreciated) if you are interested.
