Writing firmware software for a new own 3-axis Robotic Arm using NUCLEO-F746ZG

We would like to write our own firmware software on mBed for a new own 3-axis Robotic Arm using NUCLEO-F746ZG. Would like to know where to start with ?

There are many servo/stepper motor projects posted on MBED. That would be a good place to start.
