How could I read a *.wav file from local file system?

I am having trouble reading data from an SD card breakout board and so I chopped the song down to 5 seconds and saved it in the mbed drive itself as its only 50KB in size.

How could I now read that *.wav audio file and output it to a 8 ohm speaker?
