Power the microcontroller using a battery

Hi,

I am using the Nucleo-F401RE to run a GSM/GPS breakout board for a project. Up until now i have been powering the microcontroller with a USB cable from my laptop. I am now looking into suitable battery supplies.

Has anybody got any recommendations for a rechargeable battery supply?

Have a look of the Adafruit PowerBoost 1000C here https://www.adafruit.com/products/2465. Sparkfun also have battery management products but I like the Adafruit item because it has built-in load-sharing; you can run your board while charging, or from the battery alone or the charging supply alone. I haven't tried it but I'm getting one for my project. Anyway, the video on the page above explains it well.

The MAX32630FTHR board has a battery charger built-in. If you get that and the Adafruit Ultimate GPS FeatherWing you have a smaller, lower power solution. You can also get a suitable battery like this one: https://www.adafruit.com/products/2750 from Adafruit.

The Nucleo F401RE requires a 5-7v supply voltage. I have this microcontroller fully set up now just need to find a suitable battery.
