NXP K64F USB Port Disconnects and Reconnects constantly

Hi total newby - hobbyist here. Just getting started and I find that the USB COM Port that I have the board attached disconnects and reconnects spontaneously. When I attempt to send a file over to the board, it will drop the connection immediately. Not getting very far.

Details: Win 10 HP Elitebook 8460p I installed the latest driver from this site. I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse running in one USB port. I unplugged the Bluetooth dongle and behavior is still the same.

I've got $99 US in this and can do nothing with it.

Hi Martin,

Does this disconnection only happen when you flash a new binary to the device?

HI Andrea. Thanks.

No it happens for no reason at all, too. I just wonder if I need a better USB driver. I had a similar issue before with my Arduino, and as I recall I updated the driver and it worked. Now I'm not sure what driver to use.

I will try again tonight. Meanwhile, have you heard of a similar problem? Communication with the board drops repeatedly, sometimes several times a minute.

OK, it seems to be working now. Yesterday, when I was working with it, the board showed up as MBED in my drives. This evening, I restarted the laptop and plugged the board back in, and it said BOOTLOADER. So, I followed the procedure to get the OS into the device and seems to working fine now. I ran the lab in the getting started guide and had TerraTerm communication and the program ran. I could see the board communicating with the cloud and the RGB LED changed color.

So, I am all set for now, but I am sure that I will be back! Thanks for your response. You got back to me very quickly.
