how is "detect_code" field in target definition generated?

Hi, Could you please describe how the unique "detect_code" should be generated for a new target addition? I am not sure how to arrive at this code. I understand that this field is optional but i see that it is being used in the .py files to detect the target and related information.

Can you please describe more about this field and how it can be used?

Hi Nitin -

This code is issued when going through the mbed Enabled process to identify a unique board. Its also used by mbed-ls and a lot of productivity and automation workflow tools.

Depending on what your plans are with the custom hardware you can apply for the program to get an ID if your plans are to make something publicly available or just ignore this if for development or private use. It depends on how deep into mbed tools you want support for your hardware.
