Starting with STM32F4xx explorer

Hello to everyone.

I want to port a project from Artuino to STM32F4. To get started i searched the web finding a list on this website (which i cant find again sadly) with supported boards for mbed. Next to the nucleo boards where listed the ST explorer boards (without hyperlinks to the platforms page) plus the hyperlinked arch max (which not shows up on the platform page). I decided to order the two explorer boards (STM32F429 and STM32F407).

Now, after the boards arrived i spent some time trying to get them working, but without positive results.

How can i get the boards working? Which tools i need for programming the boards.

I am familiar with Arduino already, on Arduino Mega2560 with Windows 7.

Any help is appreciated.
