FRDM-K64F Windows usb driver problem

I just received 2 FRDM-K64F today. I have been unable to install a usable the usb driver on either my winows 8.1 machine or my windows xp machine.

The compiler recognized my K64 and createa a bin file OK, but I have NO WAY to deploy to the K64 since I can't see the virtual usb device.

--------

This is what I call a rabbit hole, something that appears to be simple buts wastes many hours of my time.

https://developer.mbed.org/handbook/Windows-serial-configuration

Says:

If the installer fails because "No mbed Microcontrollers were found":

Check your mbed Microcontroller is plugged in.

--------

Are you kidding - YES IT IS PLUGED IN

The newest jlink doesn't seem to have virtual com port option.

Do you have any recomendations?

Thank You

bruit

I have tried a windows 7 machine and the FRDM-K64F seems to be working OK

Hi Martin,

Have you plugged the USB cable into the correct USB port?

You should use the USB port that is closest to the RESET button (it is also labled as OpenSDA on the bottom of the board).

Hope that helps, Brian
