Pin allocation on nucleo board

Hello,

this counter freq is very interesting and I would like to use it but I fail to understand why it is not possible to change the input pin.

Inside freq_counter.h file it is mentioned :

  • CAUTION: Direct access to the CPU Timer module!!
  • No way to change pin asｓign and timer module,
  • mbed LPC1768 -> p30,
  • mbed LPC1114FN28 -> dp14,
  • Nucleo F401RE & Nucleo F411RE -> PA_0/A0

but I don't understand the explanation and why I cannot use for instance PA_2 or PA_3. Is someone can explain me ?
