MBED LPC1768 at Farnell - available until stock exhausted ?

Farnell says available until stock exhausted ? Is this module likely to go obsolete ?

The "until stock exhausted" message has gone from the Farnell page now

Hi All,

No plans to obsolete the original LPC1768, which has seen consistent demand since launch in 2009.

I'll ask Farnell.

Cheers, Chris

Hmmm.... good question! Dunno, but I'd be interested in the answer. The LPC1768 module I have has a faulty connection between Vbat pin on the module and the chip (resulting in the RTC not working when the main power is off). I need to order a replacement module. I was designing this into something, but may look for alternatives if it is going to be obsoleted. (Aside: A semiconductor company I used to work for one day announced that they were obsoleting a certain chip, because it wasn't selling. Suddenly, sales went through the roof! Go figure!)

.... or perhaps it is being superseded by another module, like this one (just spotted): https://developer.mbed.org/platforms/xbed-LPC1768/ Ether way, it would be nice to know the plans.
