Websocket Ethernet HelloWorld

I am sourcing internet to my mbed LPC1768 board from ethernet port of my laptop.(I have stripped off one end of a cat 5e cable and attached it to ethernet pins on the board and other end goes to my laptop ethernet port). My laptop receives internet through a wireless.I have bridged this connection to the ethernet port of laptop wich provides internet to mbed board.

All of this setup works fine and I can very well run the Websocket_Ethernet_HelloWorld and ECE4180ETHERNETTEST programs when my laptop is connected to my home wireless.

However when my laptop is on my college campus internet wireless which requires a login to connect to,my programs do not run and give me following error: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port.
Instead use the HTTPS scheme to access this URL, please.

Hint: https://securelogin.arubanetworks.com/

How can this be resolved?
