This set of notes is for running a "lunch and learn" style session. It is a 30 minute introduction into mbed, explaining how and why it came to exist, followed by a series of demonstrations which also work well as workshop follow-along. The sections of the slides are :

  • Introduction to mbed
  • Lab 1: mbed registration and Hello World demo
  • Lab 2: Other IO
  • Lab 3: Interfacing with sensors
  • Lab 4: Output devices, a TextLCD
  • Lab 5: Rapid prototyping, Build a datalogger

All of the parts needed to run this workshpop can be purchased as a kit from Cool Components.

This lab assumes the mbed Application board, a Sprint 598U USB modem and a 9v 2A wall power adaptor.
